Greetings Everyone!

We are taking a journey to the Great Northwest, with its snow capped mountains, inviting vineyards, and the Spruce Goose for the upcoming Fall meeting in Portland ,OR., Oct. 5th  - 8th, 2011. Our host will be Cascade Steel, McMinnville, OR. yours truly, Chuck Berrier, will be our host Member. We will be staying at the beautiful DoubleTree Hotel, Portland.

Once again our Spring 2011 meeting was a great success thanks to the dedication of our members. I hope that everyone came away from the meeting with some valuable information, either from one of the committee meetings, the technical session or just from conversing with each other.

I would like to thank our host company, Steel Dynamics, Pittsboro, for their hospitality. All of their employees were very courteous and willing to answer questions during our tour of their plant, and a special thanks for the great lunch we were served after the tour. Thanks to Robert Kibler, Stephanie Reinhardt, Marcie Romine and all the members at Steel Dynamics Pittsboro for all of their hard work in making this past meeting a great success! 

We will continue our focus on Safety and make this the first item of discussion at all of our technical and committee meetings. We had another good turn out for our operators round table meeting in Indianapolis, and I believe everyone who was in attendance took away something positive and valuable from that discussion.
